Hospital/Homebound Ministry
This ministry seeks to partner a minister with one or more home-bound people in our parish for visitation, communion, and to provide a connection to the parish. Persons in this ministry may volunteer as hospital ministers, homebound ministers, and in nursing homes.
If you are aware of anyone who is homebound and in need or desire of our support, or who is in need of the Sacrament of the Sick or Communion, please contact the church office at 330-296-6434.
Prayer Line
This ministry asks its members to keep in prayer various parishioners and their family members in need of healing; be they physical, spiritual or emotional. A prayer list is updated in the parish office monthly and sent to all members. Should you desire to have someone placed on the prayer list or receive a monthly list to pray for, please contact Roberta Held at 330-296-4093, or contact the parish office. Names will be removed from the list every three months unless otherwise indicated. Again, thank you to everyone who offers their ministry of prayer.
Bereavement Luncheons
Persons involved in this ministry lend a gentle touch to others in their time of grief by offering and providing luncheons for family members celebrating a Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Conception Church. Volunteers in this ministry can help in a variety of ways: calling volunteers to provide food, serving the luncheon, or food preparation of potato dishes, vegetable dishes, salads, or desserts.
Young at Heart
This group serves members of the parish over 55 years of age providing a catered luncheon on the 3rd Wednesday of every month in our parish hall.
Dust Busters
This group of volunteers gathers each Friday morning following the 8 am Mass, to clean the Church.
Care Team
Persons involved in the Care Team ministry coordinate all charitable collections at our parish and other service activities throughout the calendar year. Collections include a Christmas Giving Program, back to school supplies, spring cleaning, pasta drive and any others as needed in the community.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
The Prayer Shawl Ministry is also a part of the Care Team. Members knit or crochet shawls for anyone in need of hope and healing. They also make blankets for babies who will be baptized at Immaculate Conception Parish throughout the year. Each shawl/blanket maker begins with prayer and blessings for the recipient. The intentions are continued throughout its creation and completion.
Transportation Service
There are volunteers available for this service. If you are interested, please call Karen at 330-296-4682 or Dorothy at 330-296-4191. This is for Parish events ONLY: Masses, confession, spaghetti dinners, rosary or other church related activities.
